How To Make Homemade Cold Brew (2-Ways!)
If you’re anything like me, you may or may not have a cold brew obsession…. possibly addiction? Let’s go with obsession.
Let’s face it — cold brew is king. It’s smooth, strong, flavorful, and VERY caffeinated. Because of it’s unique method of heat free brewing, the acidity levels are super low, making it an extremely palatable and delicious alternative to your hot cup of joe.
To make your own is simple. There are many ways, but I’m giving you my tried and tested. I recommend using dark roast beans for a deeper flavor, but light/medium roasts work just as well.
Ingredients
- 1/3 c coarsely ground coffee beans
- 1.5 c room temperature filtered water
- Milk of choice (optional)
- Sweetener of choice (optional)
Instructions
Method #1 - French Press
1. Place ground coffee beans in French press
2. Pour filtered water into French press
3. Using a spoon or chopstick, stir until the grounds are completely soaked
4. Let coffee sit overnight in the fridge
5. Plunge French press to reveal cold brew coffee
6. Add milk & sweetener to your liking
7. ENJOY!!
Method #2 - Jar & Mesh Strainer
1. Place ground coffee beans in sealable jar
2. Pour filtered water into sealable jar
3. Using a spoon or chopstick, stir until the grounds are completely soaked
4. Let coffee sit overnight in the fridge
5. Strain coffee into a glass through a mesh strainer
6. Add milk & sweetener to your liking
7. ENJOY!!
